Ambrosia Acosta Teran [Spanish: Terán] (21 February 1904 – 25 August 2016) was a Mexican supercentenarian who was the first verified supercentenarian in Mexico (although two Mexican immigrant cases had been previously validated, namely Soledad Mexia and Dominga Velasco - both residents of the USA), according to the GRG. She was, at the age of 112 years, 186 days, the oldest known living person in Mexico.[1]

Maria Ambrosia was born in Ciudad Valles, San Luis Potosi, as the daughter of Concepción Terán Paulín, who was single at the time. She grew up in the country. Her family was forced to escape from the Mexican revolution. Her mother later married Merced Acosta, who recognized Ambrosia as his daughter. Ambrosia worked as a secretary of the governor in Mexico City to help her family, who were living in San Luis Potosi. In her 50's, she decided to return back to San Luis Potosi. Ambrosia's mother passed away at the age of 98.

Ambrosia liked to watch television, and enjoyed reading, singing, eating Mexican food ''Chile Relleno''. She was still walking until 109, when she became afraid of falling.

Ambrosia Acosta Teran passed away on 25 August 2016 at the age of 112 years, 186 days.
