Chitetsu Watanabe (born 5 March 1907) is a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). He is one of the oldest known living people in Niigata prefecture, Japan.
Chitetsu Watanabe was born on 5 March 1907 in Japan. His parents were farmers. After graduating, he went to Taiwan with his job as an employee for a sugarcane company. He later married and had four children, one of whom he currently lives with. He has two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren as of his 107th birthday.
When he was 107, Chitetsu was asked the secret to his long life. He said that laughing often will help you reach the age that he has. He also said to forget bad things and to not get angry.
Chitetsu Watanabe currently lives in Joetsu, Niigata, Japan, at the age of 111 years, 134 days.
