Angelica "Susan" Genevieve Mary Wilhelm (née Harris; 14 May 1906 – 31 July 2016) was an American supercentenarian who was the oldest known living person in the state of Alabama at the time of her death. Her age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Angelica Wilhelm was born as Angelica Susan Genevieve Mary Harris, the oldest child of Canadian-born Norman Ley Harris and Danish-born Angelica Elizabeth Carol Harris, in New Jersey, USA, on 14 May 1906. She met her future husband Francis Augustus "Frank" Wilhelm through her sister Helen's boyfriend. Frank and Angelica married in Bronx, New York in 1933.[1][2] The couple had no children. After 39 years of marriage, Frank Wilhelm sadly died on 2 December 1972 of cancer at the age of 65.[3] [4] In 1989, Angelica Wilhelm's mother died at the age of 104.[5]

During her retirement years, Angelica visited many places including Tokyo, Egypt, the Panama Canal, Hawaii, Greece and the South Pacific. Afterwards, she started working with The Weaver's Guild, and also with the Alter Guild at St. Thomas Episcopal.

Angelica Wilhelm died in Redstone Village Retirement Community in Huntsville, Alabama, USA, on 31 July 2016, aged 110 years, 78 days.
