Mary Ann Chapman (née Turner; 16 November 1904 – 5 March 2017) was an American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Mary Chapman was born Mary Ann Turner in Illinois, USA, on 16 November 1904. Her parents were John and Hattie (née Jones) Turner. She had around 10 siblings, one of whom, Clara (1900–2008), lived to be 108.
On 22 December 1923, she married William Chapman in Carlyle, Clinton, Illinois and she had four children with him: Ollie, Clayton, Freddie, and Clyde. Sadly, their son Clyde died on 21 June 1937 at the age of 9. Mary was widowed at some point after Clyde's death.
Mary Chapman died in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, on 5 March 2017, at the age of 112 years, 109 days.
