Biography[]
Perfecta was born in Jeff Davis County, Texas, United States. Her father, Pedro Rodriguez, was a field worker while her mother Guadulupe worked as a midwife. Despite living in United States throughout her entire life, Perfecta didn't speak any English. She had six other siblings; four brothers and two sisters.
At the age of 18, she married for the first time. She would end up marrying twice more. Her last marriage to Lucio Luera produced five children in total, all of which tragically passed away in infancy. When she was in her 70s, she relocated to Chaves County, New Mexico.
At the age of 104, she was living in her own house and was still able to walk without assistance and do everyday household chores. She enjoyed crotcheting and praying to God. At the age of 108, she was still living in her own house.

Birth date inconsistency[]
Perfecta is officially validated by the Gerontology Research Group as being born on 16 June 1895. However, newspaper articles spanning from 1999 to 2005 all state that her birth year was 18 April 1895. Her Social Security Death Index (SSDI) also supports April as the birth month but with a different date (16th).
