Vera Pigott (née Bull; 8 July 1905 – 13 October 2016) was a British supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the fourth-oldest person in the United Kingdom (behind Bessie Camm, Olive Boar, and Alice Ducat) and the second-oldest known person in Kent, England, behind only Alice Ducat of Hythe.[1]
Biography[]
Vera Pigott was born as Vera Kathleen Bull in London, England, UK on 8 July 1905 to parents Ernest and Kate Bull. She married Douglas Pigott, a bank clerk, in 1924. The couple had four children, Beryl, Donald, Monica and Graham. Donald died in 2009 at the age of 79. Vera worked as a full-time mother and housewife for 23 years before working as a copy typist. Douglas died in 1988.[2]
Pigott died in Maidstone, Kent, England, UK on 13 October 2016 at the age of 111 years, 97 days.[3]
