Giuseppina Projetto-Frau (born 30 May 1902) is a validated Italian supercentenarian who has been the oldest living person in Italy since the death of Marie-Josephine Gaudette on 13 July 2017 and the oldest living Italian-born person since the death of Emma Morano on 15 April 2017.
Biography
Projetto was born in La Maddalena, Sardinia, Italy. Her father’s name was Cicillo, and she had four siblings. She married Giuseppe Frau and the couple had three children in total. Around 1946, Giuseppina moved to the Florence on mainland Italy, where she still resides today with one of her daughters, Julia.
On 30 May 2017, Projetto celebrated her 115th birthday, making her the first Sardinian person and the third Italian overall to reach the age of 115. She is the last surviving validated person born in 1902.
