Lena Dick (née Schultz; born 5 August 1905) is an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).[1]
Biography
Lena Dick was born Lena Helen Schultz on 5 August 1905 in Midway, Cottonwood, Minnesota. Her parents were Isaac D. Schultz and Cornelia "Nellie" (née Peters) Schultz. She had 4 siblings: David (1903–1995), Albert (1907–2002), Willard (1910–1976) and Susanna (1916–1916).[2]
She married Jacob Dick in the 1930s.[3] [4] She worked on the family's farm and cared for their 3 children: Alvin, Dorothy and Willard.[5] [6] [7]
Her husband Jacob died in 1987, 2 weeks shy of his 85th birthday.[8] Her son Alvin passed away in 2015 aged 79.[9]
Lena remained in her own home until the age of 105. She currently lives in Mountain Lake, Minnesota at the age of 118 years, 257 days.[10]
