Maria Tudor (8 September 1903 O.S./21 September 1903 N.S. – 22 March 2016) was a Romanian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she may have been the oldest known living person in Romania and a candidate for the oldest Romanian person ever.

Biography[]

Maria Tudor was born in Sambata Noua, Topolog Municipality, Tulcea County, Romania on 8 September 1903 (now 21 September since the adoption of the Gregorian calendar).

She may have become the oldest known living person in Romania, following the death of 107-year-old Marton Mihaly on 10 December 2010. In September 2013, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.

Maria Tudor died in Sambata Noua, Topolog Municipality, Tulcea County, Romania on 22 March 2016 at the age of 112 years, 183 days. If her claimed age is true, she would have been the oldest person ever to die in Romania, but that title currently belongs to Dumitru Comanescu who died at the age of 111 years, 219 days and whose age was validated by Guinness World Records.
