    • That's not what I talked about... I talked about "Pages in category "German supercentenarians" > there is not a right order, only half-right

  • GreatGreen,

I actually invited you here because I appreciated your editing regarding German supercentenarian material.

That said, you seem not to understand that the Gerontology Wiki is written in English, not German.

I have repeatedly asked you to edit using the English alphabet, grammar, and punctuation.

I even offered to let you make "German-language" articles using the German language.

    However, you declined this offer.

If you continue to not conform to the Gerontology Wiki policy on text and language requirements, a block will be forthcoming.Ryoung122 (talk) 17:21, February 8, 2016 (UTC)

    • Me, too.

When adding the English language, the articles lost their info boxes again - is there any possibility to keep them?

    • I'm for infoboxes, so yes, you can keep infoboxes. Ryoung122 (talk) 16:28, February 15, 2016 (UTC)

  • I recommend that established editors keep a list of articles started on their profile, similar to the way Richard Monkey does it.

Lists of articles created, with date of article creation, helps admins monitor new articles. It also gives the article creator credit and helps highlight new articles.Ryoung122 (talk) 14:57, January 30, 2016 (UTC)

  • Hi GreatGreen,

I've recently added a "Living German supercentenarians" section to the List of German supercentenarians page, and as part of the list, there is a "state of residence" column. The states in which living German supercentenarians live have been included in the list. However, the state in which Pauline Raissle resides is not included in the list.

I was wondering if you were aware of which state Mrs. Raissle resides in?

    Thanks

    • I was not sure about whether all these things are that important but okay, I will consider this now :)

Mrs Raissle lives in Bavaria. She's the oldest living person there

    • Well, in most "Living (Country) supercentenarians" lists, the state/province of residence is listed, so when I added the list to the German supercentenarians article, I included the column regarding state of residence. :)

    • Also, the information on Mrs. Raissle's article states that she lives in Metzingen, which is in the state of Baden-Württemberg?

    • I would actually prefer that we simply use "Dornemann." If we understand that this is written in English, for English users, then non-English punctuation doesn't mean anything.

However, I like the idea of having a "German-language" Gerontology Wiki (and Spanish, and French, Polish, etc.). The question is: would it work for us to create foreign-language sections within the same WIki? Let's discuss this in the "General Discussion" board.Ryoung122 (talk) 18:09, January 29, 2016 (UTC)

    • We could try, but I often think about the following: many German families are not interested to seen personal data collected in a text about them. Of course they gave data to the press one time, two times, ... but often there are not that complex articles and having English articles means not so many people are looking up for those information. I think you could imagine about when thinking about all the left German cases. Many families don't want to particiapte on GRG because there is not so much trust but also the wish to keep privacy.

The problem is that I think just the simple letter would give the wrong input about spelling... it is tricky to find a good solution

    • It's fine, it took me a while to understand how it works too.

So, for example, the Living-unverified template will list various unverified supercentenarians that are living. In order for the infobox to work properly on a page, you need to input the data for a particular supercentenarian into the template page.

This edit was made to the template when I added Auguste Ehard. The process for adding any supercentenarians to an infobox template is done in this format. Once you have added the information to the template, you can refresh the article page, and the infobox information will be there.

    • Why isn't there a youtube tutorial?? :'D

Okay, I'm gonna try with the next articles whether it works. Thanks for your help.
