Myrtle Kaywood (née Craker; 27 November 1877 - 12 February 1989) was a verified American supercentenarian from Edinboro, Pennsylvania.
Biography
Her full name at birth was Myrtle Electra Craker. She had three brothers and three sisters. She married Roy Teman Kaywood in 1901 and lived in Jackson, Michigan, for several years. The couple moved to Bradenton, Florida, in 1950. Kaywood became a widow in 1963. When her 78-year old son suffered a heart attack, she took care of him.
She was a member of the organization Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Up until a month before her death, she was in good health and enjoyed growing flowers in her garden. The decline was said to be due to dehydration and she wouldn't eat her food.
Myrtle Kaywood died on 12 February 1989, at the age of 111 years, 77 days. At the time of her death, her 82-year-old daughter was still alive.
