Nabi Tajima (born 4 August 1900) is a Japanese supercentenarian who, at the age of 117 years, 203 days, has been the oldest living validated person in the world since the death of Violet Brown on 15 September 2017. She became the oldest person in Japan following the death of the anonymous resident of Tokyo on 27 September 2015, and following the death of Violet Brown, became the last validated person born in the year 1900.
Tajima was born in Araki, an area of what was then Wan Village, in the westernmost part of Kikaijima Island, Kagoshima prefecture. She currently resides in Kikai, located on the same island in the prefecture of Kagoshima. On her 117th birthday she had 9 children (7 sons and 2 daughters), 28 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 64 great-great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-great-grandchildren.
