Nana Shaova

Nana (Nanu) Tsukovna Shaova (Russian: Нана (Нану) Цуковна Шаова; born 1890?) is a Russian longevity claim who claims to be the world's oldest person.

Biography

Nana claims to be born in 1890 in the village of Zayukovo, Baksansky District, Kabardino-Balkaria, Russian Empire (present-day Russia) in a large family. She worked on the collective farm. Her first husband died at the front in the Great Patriotic War. She married again in 1946 and spend 36 years with her second husband.

Her second husband passed away in 1982 at the age of 96. She had eight children (3 of them died as a children).

Nana was recognized as the oldest person in Russia in 2017, receiving a certificate from the Russian Book of Records. However, the certificate lists her birthday as 15 July 1890, but according to her son, Hussein, she was born on 25 May. The secret of longevity, according to Nana, is a healthy lifestyle, traditional food and sweets. In April 2018, she had 4 children (3 sons and 1 daughter), 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Nana currently lives in the village of Zayukovo, Baksansky District, Kabardino-Balkaria, Russia.
