Nina Hofer-Lustenberger (28 November 1904 – 2 November 2015) was a Swiss supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was the oldest known person in Switzerland when she died.

Biography

Nina Hofer-Lustenberger was born on 28 November 1904 in Nottwil, Lucerne, Switzerland. She married Heinrich Lustenberger in 1928 and moved to Kriens, Lucerne. Heinrich and Nina had five children together. The couple ran a small farm for nearly 60 years, until Heinrich passed away in 1987, leaving Nina a widow.

In 2000, Nina moved in to a retirement home. She became the oldest person in Switzerland upon the death of Alice Roffler-Waldmeier on 26 January 2015. In her final years, she was reported to be five feet tall and wheelchair-bound. In addition to five children, Nina also had 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Nina Hofer-Lustenberger passed away on 2 November 2015 at the age of 110 years, 339 days. She had lived in Lucerne, Switzerland, for her whole life. Her successor as Switzerland’s oldest person was Italian-born Lucrezia Furceri (1907–2016).
