Ida Pauline "Polly" Owen (née Barrett; 8 February 1906 – 22 March 2016) was an American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
She was born on 8 February 1906, in White County near Cleveland, Georgia and moved to the Hawkinsville area in 1917. She was the third child of eight born to John Frank Barrett and Mattie (née Trotter) Barrett. Her father died in 1935 at the age of 59 and her mother died in 1920 at the age of 33.
She married James E. Owen in 1928. The couple had two children: James E. Owen, Jr. (died 1995) and Ann Owen Miller (1931–2021). She was widowed in 1987. Her last surviving sister Lillie Mae Owen died in 2000 at age of 97.
Pauline Owen died peacefully in her sleep at home in Acworth, Georgia, USA on 22 March 2016 at the age of 110 years, 43 days. At the time of her death, she had three grandsons, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
