Peter Ole Solum (3 May 1882 – 5 June 1993) was a verified American supercentenarian. He was born in Clay County, Minnesota. His parents, Ole and Kari (née Stadum) Solum, were Norwegian emigrants. He enrolled at Park Region Luther College, where he studied business administration. His first marriage didn’t last more than one year; his wife Hilda Fossen passed away in 1906.
His second marriage took place on 28 January 1911, when he married Anna Peterson. Several years later, he enlisted in the U.S. Army when United States entered World War 1. After Anna died in 1957, the then 75-year old Peter decided to marry for a third time. On 24 October 1958, he married the 34-year old Della B. Haugee.
His main occupation was working at different stores in Northwestern states such as Minnesota and North Dakota. Other jobs included operating a real estate business, insurance business and working for the Minnesota taxation department. He was also a city tresurer in Barnesville. As he was approaching his centenarian years, he retired in 1977.
Peter Solum passed away on 5 June 1993 at the age of 111 years, 33 days. His wife Della, who survived him, later remarried in 1999, at the age of 75.
