Sixta Tulia Aguinaga de Posada (née Aguinaga; born 22 April 1907) is a Colombian-American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She is one of the oldest known living people in New York.
Sixta Tulia Aguinaga de Posada was born Sixta Tulia Aguinaga on 22 April 1907 in Sopetran, Colombia as natural daughter of Eumelia Aguinaga. She was baptised on 29 April 1907, a week after her birth. She had two younger siblings, Jose Angel and Rosa, both of whom are now deceased.
On 18 April 1927, four days before her 20th birthday, Sixta married Pedro Posada and had seven children with him, two sons and five daughters. Four of her children are now deceased. Only Mariela, Lucia and Rodolfo Posada are still alive, aged 77, 74 and 69 respectively, as of Sixta's 109th birthday.
Sixta lived with her daughter Lucia and granddaughters Erika and Vanessa from 1972 to 1978, when she returned to Colombia. Shortly after she returned to her home country, her eldest son Leon suddenly died. Her husband Pedro passed away in 1990 after 63 years of marriage. Sixta remained in Colombia until 2001, when she came back to the US for her granddaughter Erika's wedding. However, it wasn't until 2010 that Sixta became a permanent US citizen.
Sixta Tulia Aguinaga de Posada currently lives in LaGrange, New York, USA, at the age of 110 years, 185 days. She is the second oldest Colombian-American person behind Isabel Castano Restrepo.
